The problem is affecting ‘Faster Payments’ – which are bank transfers that usually happen instantly, but can take up to two hours – on the first day of the month, when many make payments for rent and other bills.
Most customers are reporting that the money appears to have left their accounts, but not arrived in the bank account it was supposed to be transferred to.
If you’re affected, make a note of any losses you’ve incurred as a result of the delay, so that if necessary you can claim cash back.
